BOU vs Man Utd: Injury update, head to head & possible XI

Manchester United are out to continue their vastly-improved run of form when they travel to face Bournemouth on Saturday early kick-off at Dean Court.

After failing to register a win away from home since that extraordinary night in Paris back in March as Red Devils recorded three in the space of six days with victories at Partizan Belgrade, Norwich and Chelsea in the League Cup on Wednesday.

Bournemouth meanwhile are currently in the midst of a dry spell, having not tasted victory for five successive matches while also firing a blank in their last three outings but will be hoping to rediscover some goalscoring form in front of their own supporters.

Team News

Eddie Howe remains without long-term absentees Dan Gosling, David Brooks, Charlie Daniels and Junior Stanislas, but other than the aforementioned casualties he has a fresh squad to choose from.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will likely make wholesale changes from the midweek cup win over Chelsea, but he is unlikely to tinker defensively with Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire retaining their places despite picking up slight knocks at Stamford Bridge.

Luke Shaw is on the cusp of a return but may not be risked from the off on Saturday, while Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba remain out, with the latter sidelined until December but Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Diogo Dalot continue their prolonged spells on the treatment table.

Head to Head

Bournemouth announced themselves to the Premier League in December 2015 with a 2-1 win over Manchester United that included Stanislas scoring directly from a corner inside the opening two minutes.

Since then Red Devils have an impressive record against the Cherries is impressive, winning six of their last seven games against Howe's men.

Recent Form

Bournemouth have been struggling to find the back of the net in recent weeks, as they have not scored in their previous three games. However, they have shut out their last two opponents, drawing 0-0.

Manchester United have turned a corner since their loss at Newcastle before the international break. Since, they have drawn with Liverpool, and beaten Norwich City, Partizan and Chelsea.

Bournemouth possible starting lineup: Ramsdale; Smith, S. Cook, Ake, Rico; L. Cook, Billing, H. Wilson, Fraser; C. Wilson, King

Manchester United possible starting lineup: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Young; McTominay, Fred, Pereira; James, Martial, Rashford

Scoreline prediction: Bournemouth 1-2 Man Utd
