Iheanacho battle Vardy & five others for Leicester award

Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho will battle Jamie Vardy, Nigerian youngster Josh Eppiah plus four others for Leicester City’s Goal of the Month for October.

The 23-year-old Nigeria international who is yet to make an appearance for the Foxes in the Premier League was given a rare start in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup last week where he scored the opener after seven minutes in the 3-1 victory over Burton Albion King Power Stadium, where he was teed up by Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans.

Iheanacho has been nominated for goal of the month award alongside two players he falls behind in the pecking order at Leicester City Vardy and Ayoze Perez plus James Maddison, Khanya Leshabela, Tielemans and another Nigerian youngster Josh Eppiah.

The Foxes fans are expected to vote for the favourite goal as voting ends on Sunday, November 10, according to the club’s official website.

Iheanacho has found back of the net twice his season after finding back of the net in the 4-0 win against Luton Town in the Carabao Cup but Leicester City welcome Arsenal to Kind Power Stadium this coming weekend.
