Nigerian ace reacts after winning Young Player of Year award
The 19-year-old Kano-born played 27 matches for IFK Goteborg and scored two goals and provided two assists in just recently concluded Allsvenska.
Yusuf was voted ahead of two other exciting youngsters of Djurgården's Aslak Fonn Witry and Örebro's Jake Larsson were nominated in the category of young players of the year under the Allsvenskans Stora Pris.
Goteborg midfielder said "I feel very honored because this league has many talented young players," he said from the stage.
For his development during the season, he praises the team - and especially the coach Poya Asbaghi.
"He made me show traits I didn't know I had - the defensive. He has helped me a lot with that. The encouragement I got from the coaches, that they really believe in me, and the support of my teammates has really helped me.
Yusuf also scooped the Player of the Year in his club Goteborg were close on a move to Premier League side Wolves last summer but the deal eventually collapsed.
