1. Adelabu Vs Seyi Makinde: Appeal Court Judgement Causes Confusion

The Court of Appeal in Ibadan on Monday left many confused after giving its ruling in the election dispute case between Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and Adebayo Adelabu of the All Progressives Congress.
The Election Petition Tribunal in Oyo State, in May this year dismissed an application filed by Adebayo Adelabu, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress asking to recount votes in the March 9 election.

2. Ogun Governorship: Appeal Court Gives Final Ruling On Abiodun, Akinlade’s Fate

The appeal filed by Adekunle Akinlade against the election victory of Governor Dapo Abiodun has been dismissed on Monday by the Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State.
It will be recalled that Akinlade contested the March 9 Ogun State governorship election on the platform of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) while Abiodun ran on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

3. Balarabe Speaks On What Will Happen If Nigeria Eventually Splits

A former Governor of Kaduna State, Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa, has stated that If Nigeria should break up, this would not end the numerous problems being faced by the country.
He noted that the region would suffer from the same problems it is trying to escape.

4. Ex-Petroleum Minister Tam David-West Dies

Professor Tam David West, a former minister of Petroleum and consultant virologist, is dead.
This was made known in a statement on Monday Media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Garba Shehu.

Adebayo Oladeji, spokesman for Samson Ayokunle, president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has noted that there is no crisis between President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.

Reports reaching Naija News says the Kogi state secretariat of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), located in Lokoja has been burnt down.
According to the report gathered by our correspondent, unknown individuals suspected to be political thugs, stormed the SDP secretariat early Monday morning and burnt down the edifice. 

11. Boko Haram: Oyedepo’s Pastor, Schoolgirl Regain Freedom

Boko Haram insurgents have released a pastor with Living Faith Church, Moses Oyeleke and a schoolgirl, Ndagiliya Ibrahim Umar, in Borno State.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan has upheld the victory of Governor Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Oyo State governorship election. The court in a unanimous judgement delivered by Justice Abubakar Yahaya on Monday upheld the decision of the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal which declared Makinde as the winner of the March 9 election. It, however, dismissed the appeal filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election, Adebayo Adelabu.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has commended the judgement of the Court of Appeal which affirmed his victory in the March 9 governorship election in the state. In a statement on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Taiwo Adisa, the governor reassured residents that he would not be deterred from taking the state to greater heights. He also insisted that positive governance and unprecedented development would continue to be the portion of the people through his tenure.

President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a message of condolence to the David-West family following the death of former Minister of Petroleum Tam David-West.
