1. Buhari Signs Amended Deep Offshore Act

The $1.4 billion PSC bill seeking to amend the deep offshore and inland basin production sharing contract (DOIBPSC) act has been signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The bill is aimed at amending the act in a way the federal government gets its benefits through reviewing the sharing formula.

2. Court Sacks House Of Rep Majority Leader, Alhassan Doguwa Of Kano

The Majority Leader of the Hosue of Representatives, Mallam Alhassan Ado Doguwa has been sacked on Monday by the Court of Appeal sitting in Kaduna.

Doguwa was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress to represent the Tudunwada/Doguwa Federal Constituency of Kano State.

3. Sowore Rejects Apostle Suleman’s Offer To help

Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide’s leader, Apostle Johnson Suleman‘s offer to stand as surety for the detained activist, Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore has been rejected.

The legal team of Sowore, especially his lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, told newsmen that Suleman was not eligible to stand surety for the detained activist as the court was clear that the surety must be resident in Abuja.

4. Kogi Guber: INEC Deploys Three National Commissioners, Seven RECs

Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, has approved the deployment of three of the commission’s national commissioners and seven Resident Electoral Commissioners ahead of the governorship election in Kogi State.

The development was revealed by the Head, Voter Education and Publicity Department, Ahmed Biambo, in Lokoja office on Monday.

5. How Okorocha Offered Me $2m Bribe To Turn Election In His Favour – Gulak

The chairman of the committee in charge of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2019 Imo State governorship primaries, Ahmed Gulak has accused Rochas Okorocha of attempting to buy off the process.

Gulak in a fresh accusation, alleged Okorocha offered him a bribe to ensure the result of the primaries ended in favour of his anointed candidate, Uche Nwosu.

6. Presidency Reveals ‘Real Reason’ Behind President Buhari’s Travels

The presidency has justified the frequent foreign trips by President Muhammadu Buhari saying Nigeria needs such trips.

Explaining the reasons behind the trips, Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the president said the journeys were not embarked on for frivolities, but to repair the damaged image of the country and sell economic opportunities to willing investors.

7. Kogi Guber: PDP Accuses Gov. Bello Of Planning To Oppress Opposition Leaders

The Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has revealed an alleged plan by the state Governor, Yahaya Bello, to derail the November 16 governorship election in the state.

The opposition party accused the state governor of planing to go after leaders of the party ahead of the forthcoming election.

8. Obono-Obla In Fresh Trouble As AGF Malami Submits Report To Osinbajo

A former chairman of the Special Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property (SPIP), Okoi Obono-Obla has been accused of carrying out investigations beyond the mandate of his office.

A report submitted to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo by Abubakar Malami, the attorney-general of the federation (AGF), accused Obono-Obla of investigating 50 cases without authorisation.

9. Minimum Wage: Labour Threatens State Governors Over Implementation

The organized labour in Nigeria has called for the impeachment of state governors who are not ready to pay the N30,000 minimum wage to workers.

It also appealed to state Houses of Assembly to support the call by labour on the implementation of the new minimum wage.

10. Governor Exposes Plan By Kidnappers To Abduct, Kill Him

The Governor of Edo State, Samuel Ortom has alleged that some criminally minded persons are planning to kidnap and kill him.

Speaking on Sunday in Makurdi, the Governor further revealed that these people planned on killing his security aides before killing him.
