1. There was a mild drama at an Abuja Federal High Court on Friday as operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, disrupted the trial of activists, Omoyele Sowore and Olawale Bakare.
DSS operatives chased out lawyers from the courtroom and attacked journalists after which they re-arrested Sowore.

2. Convener of Concerned Nigerian, Deji Adeyanju, on Friday charged President Muhammadu Buhari to suspend the country’s constitution, disband National Assembly, after operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, invaded the courtroom of an Abuja Federal High Court, chased away lawyers before re-arresting Omoyele Sowore, convener of RevolutionNow Movement.
Adeyanju also charged Buhari to abrogate the judiciary and transform into a Military Head of State because he is a “tyrant.”

3. The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has called for the suspension of the Director General of the State Security Services (DSS), Yusuf Bichi, following the invasion of court by its personnel in Friday to rearrest Omoyele Sowore.
The umbrella body of lawyers said it was disgraceful that the ‘court riot’ occasioned by the high handedness and insensitivity of the security operatives interrupted judicial proceedings and made the Presiding Judge to abandon judicial proceedings because of safety concerns.

4. Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka, has told President Muhammadu Buhari to “rein in your wild dogs of disobedience”, after the Department of State Services (DSS) rearrested the convener of #RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore.
In a statement on Friday, Soyinka described Sowore’s rearrest as a degradation of the judiciary

5. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has announced the death of its leader’s father, Israel Kanu.
The circumstances surrounding the death of Israel Kanu, who is the father of Nnamdi Kanu and also the traditional ruler of Afaraukwu community of Umuahia in Abia State were, however, not disclosed by the group.

6. The Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, on Friday claimed that he was attacked by some “misguided” Nigerians in Madrid, Spain.
The former Governor of Rivers State, however, added that he was not hurt as the attackers were fought off by the Spanish police.

7. The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has confirmed that its members attacked Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation in Spain.
IPOB said its members attacked Amaechi in respect to an order by its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

8. Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has lambasted the President Muhammadu Buhari government over the treatment of Omoyele Sowore in court on Friday.
In a statement he signed, Atiku, who called for probe, said he was in extreme anguish of spirit having watched the unfortunate drama that played itself out at the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

9. The Jigawa State Police Command on Friday, dispatched reinforcement to Guri Local Government Area of the state where one person died during a clash by two rival groups in the locality.
SP Abdu Jinjiri, the Spokesman of the command, who confirmed the incident to newsmen in Dutse, on Friday, said the clash was between some Hausa and Fulani people along Guri-Adiyani feeder road.

10. The Federal Government on Friday, suspended seven senior officers and one junior personnel of the Nigerian Correctional Service over the electrocution of five inmates of the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The suspension was approved by the Board of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Service under the Federal Ministry of Interior, the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Jaafaru Ahmed, announced on Friday and was disclosed in a statement signed signed by the Secretary of the Board, Mal. Hassan Yakmut.
